Norse

Once upon a time, there was a pantheon called the Vanir, which “ruled” the lands of Scandinavia, Germania, and the flat lands to the east. However, wars with the Giants left them shattered, until they rallied around the young foreign god Bor of the Aesir. Bor would die in battle, leaving the pantheon to his son Odin, who married Frigg of the Vanir to seal the alliance and merger between the two pantheons.

Many of the Gods of this pantheon are hardly more than children, and many of the legends about them from “viking” days are either predictions of future events or retelling of Vanir stories with the young gods superimposed.

The Aesir are the youngest of the Major pantheons.
